Programme Officer

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Programme Officer to support the successful delivery of our work.

The main duties of the Programme Officer will be to:

  • Support the smooth delivery of our programmes

  • Organise programme-related events, such as workshops and review meetings

  • Deliver workshops to our student participants as required (full training will be provided)

  • Manage the day-to-day running of online application support system, OSCAR, provide technical support to users and make recommendations for improvement and strategic changes as appropriate

  • Act as the first point of contact for the organisation

  • Support the collection of information as part of programme reporting requirements

  • Support in the creation of new programme resources

  • Contribute to programme strategy and development

  • Support the Programme Managers with external communications including the Causeway website, Twitter account and newsletters

  • Provide administrative support to other members of the organisation as required

  • Liaise effectively and efficiently with other departments in the organisation

  • Lead by example, promoting the organisation’s values and expected behaviour

  • Undertake any other duties required by the CEO or the needs of the organisation

Person specification:


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Experience of programme work in mentoring, education or widening participation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical skills; able to work to tight deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

  • High degree of initiative and ability to see work through to conclusion

  • In possession of, or able to secure, an enhanced DBS check

  • Commitment to the aims and values of the organisation


  • Experience of programme delivery to student participants
